RECOUNT

Salah satu yang sering menyita perhatian dan pikiran kita ketika belajar bahasa Inggris adalah memahami teks bacaan. Kali ini kita akan membahas salah satu jenis teks bahasa Inggris tersebut yaitu "recount" atau yang sering dikenal dengan recount text. Pada materi ini kita akan membahas secara detail mulai dari bagaimana pengertiannya, structure kalimatnya, kaidah bahasa atau language feature dan juga beberapa contoh yang bisa dipelajari. 

Sangat penting bagi kita untuk mengenali lebih dahulu bagaimana seluk beluk recount text tersebut. Dengan begitu kita nantinya bukan hanya dapat membuat atau memproduksi teks tersebut namun juga dapat melakukan analisis atau analisa yang berkaitan dengan kaidah kebahasaaan dari teks tersebut. 

Oh iya, sekedar untuk latihan, pengantar materi ini akan kita buat selang-seling yaitu menggunakan dua bahasa sekaligus yaitu bahasa Inggris dan juga penjelasan dalam bahasa Indonesia. Dengan begitu selain membiasakan diri dengan bahasa Inggris kita bisa memastikan diri kita memahami dengan baik materi tersebut. 

 

 Apa sih sebenarnya yang dimaksud dengan recount tersebut? Secara sederhana, dapat dikatakan bahwa recount adalah sebuah teks bacaan yang isinya menceritakan kejadian atau pengalaman di masa lalu. Bisa dikatakan juga bahwa recount ini mirip atau sejenis teks cerita namun yang diambil dari kejadian pengalaman di masa lampau yang sudah dialami sebelumnya. Recount juga dapat diartikan sebagai berikut.

Recount Text adalah salah satu jenis text dalam bahasa Inggris yang menceritakan kembali tentang kejadian-kejadian atau pengalaman-pengalaman di masa lampau. Tujuan dari Recount Text adalah untuk memberikan informasi atau untuk menghibur pembaca sehingga tidak terdapat konflik. Dari kutipan penjelasan di atas dapat kita ketahui bahwa di dalam recount ini tidak ada komplikasi dalam ceritanya. Hal ini juga mengindikasikan bahwa recount ini berbeda dengan jenis teks narrative. Dari penjelasan tersebut dapat diketahui juga bahwa teks ini memiliki ciri khusus atau generic structure sebut saja orientation dan juga reorientation. Selanjutnya mari kita perhatikan penjelasan berikut!

     
 Macam-macam recount text:

 

Personal recount
Personal recount adalah recount text yang berfungsi menceritakan tentang pengalaman pribadi penulis.

 Factual recount
Factual recount adalah recount text yang berfungsi untuk menyajikan laporan peristiwa yang benar-benar terjadi, seperti laporan percobaan ilmu pengetahuan ataupun laporan kepolisian.

 Imaginative
Imaginative adalah jenis recount text yang berfungsi menyajikan sebuah cerita imaginative. Lalu menuliskan peristiwa atau kejadian yang telah terjadi.

 Struktur  Recount Text adalah sebagai berikut :

a. Orientation

Yaitu pengenalan berupa memberikan informasi tentang siapa, dimana dan kapan peristiwa atau kejadian itu terjadi di masa lampau.

b. Events

Yaitu merupakan rekaman peristiwa yang terjadi, biasanya disampaikan dalam urutan kronologis, seperti : "In the first day... . And in the next day... . And in the last day... ." Pada bagian ini terdapat juga komentar pribadi tentang peristiwa atau kejadian yang diceritakan.

c. Reorientation

Yaitu pengulangan pengenalan yang ada di orientation, pengulangan tentang rangkuman peristiwa atau kejadian yang diceritakan.

Ciri Kebahasaan Recount Text

Pada saat membaca Recount Text, akan ditemukan ciri-ciri kebahasaan sebagai berikut :

a. Menggunakan kalimat dalam bentuk  Past Tense.

   Contoh : We went to Bandung last year, I was very happy.

b. Menggunakan Action Verbs.

    Contoh : went, bought, wrote, slept, dll.

c. Menggunakan Adverbs and Adverbial Phrase untuk mengungkapkan waktu, tempat dan cara.

    Contoh : yesterday, at school, quickly, dll.

d. Menggunakan Conjunction dan Time Connectives untuk mengurutkan peristiwa atau kejadian.

    Contoh : but, and, after that, dll.

Our trip to the Blue Mountain

Orientation

On Friday we went to the Blue Mountains. We stayed at David and Della’s house. It has a big garden with lots of colourful flowers and a tennis court.

(Pada hari jumat kami pergi ke Blue Mountains. Kami menginap di rumah David dan Della. Rumah tersebut mempunyai sebuah taman yang besar dengan banyak bunga warna warni dan sebuah lapangan tenis.)

Events

On Saturday we saw the Three Sisters and went on the scenic railway. It was scary. Then, Mummy and I went shopping with Della. We went to some antique shops and I tried on some old hats. On Sunday we went on the Scenic Skyway and it rocked. We saw cockatoos having a shower.

(Pada hari sabtu kami melihat Three Sister dan pergi ke pemandangan jalan kereta api yang indah. Sangat menakutkan. Kemudian ibu dan saya pergi berbelanja dengan Della. Kita pergi ke toko-toko antik dan mencoba mendapatkan beberapa topi tua. Pada hari minggu kami pergi ke pemandangan Skyway dan berbatu. Kami melihat burung kakatua sedang mandi.)

Reorientation
In the afternoon we went home. That was very pleasent moment with my family that I ever got.

(Di sore hari kami pulang ke rumah. Itu merupakan momen paling menyenangkan bersama keluarga yang saya pernah dapatkan. )

MY STORY OF HOLIDAY 

     Two weeks ago I went to Malang  with my brother. we leave at one o'clock by car. Our destination is malang town square. there we watched the movie, that is currently most favored by teens is dilan film. However, when we got to the cinema we ran out of tickets for two time, and in the end we got tickets for eight at night, and had to wait four hours. we spent time with roads and around in the shopping area in the Malang town square, was at first really very annoying, because we have to wait long enough. So we decided to play in the time zone so our waiting time was not felt. At 6 pm we finished playing, and immediately went to the mushollah which was on the third floor near the parking lot to perform the maghrib prayer. After performing my prayers and my brother went to eat in the famous restaurant KFC, there we ordered two portions of rice box, which the side dish is kentucky chicken mixed with barberque sauce.

       
    The time we waited finally arrived we entered the cinema room and bought the previous

 popcorn, and watch the movie until finish at ten o'clock at night. But before going home my brother and I had time to buy some food, that is bread boy, rice box and soup cream kfc and hosinoya that is japanese food which is my favorite food. The hosinoya itself is a meat meal mixed with stirs of various vegetables eaten with rice powdered and with chili powder.

      The day was a very tiring day, but I am also happy to be able to have fun with my family. I am very grateful about all the things I live in my life right now because not everyone can experience life like this.

Terjemahan :

    Dua minggu yang lalu saya pergi ke Malang dengan adik laki-laki saya. Kami berangkat jam satu naik mobil. Tujuan kami adalah malang town square. Di sana kami menonton film, yang saat ini paling diminati oleh para remaja yaitu, film Dilan. Namun, ketika sampai di bioskop, kami kehabisan tiket dua kali ( waktu ), dan pada akhirnya kami mendapat tiket untuk jam delapan malam, dan harus menunggu selama  empat jam. Kami menghabiskan waktu dengan jalan jalan dan berkeliling di area perbelanjaan di Malang town square, pada awalnya sangat menyebalkan, karena kita harus menunggu cukup lama. Jadi kami memutuskan untuk bermain di time zone sehingga waktu menunggu kami tidak terasa. Pukul 6 sore kami selesai bermain, dan langsung pergi ke mushollah yang berada di lantai tiga dekat tempat parkir untuk melakukan sholat maghrib. Setelah melakukan sholat saya dan adik laki-laki saya pergi makan di restoran KFC yang terkenal, disana kami memesan dua porsi nasi kotak, yang lauk pauknya dicampur dengan saus barberque.
 
    Saat kami menunggu akhirnya tiba kami memasuki bioskop dan membeli sebelumnya popcorn, dan nonton film sampai selesai jam sepuluh malam. Tapi sebelum pulang ke rumah saudara laki-laki saya dan saya sempat membeli makanan, yaitu roti boy, nasi dan soup krim kfc serta hosinoya yang merupakan makanan jepang dan merupakan makanan kesukaan saya. Hosinoya itu sendiri adalah makanan daging yang dicampur dengan  berbagai sayuran yang dimakan dengan nasi dan dengan bubuk cabai.

     Hari itu memang hari yang sangat melelahkan, tetapi saya juga bahagia karena dapat bersenang senang dengan keluarga saya. Saya sangat bersyukur tentang semua hal yang saya jalani pada kehidupan saya saat ini karena tidak semua orang dapat mengalami hidup seperti ini.
